About
Built by parents,
for parents.
The Childhood Journal was born out of 3am panic searches and conflicting advice. We wanted one trusted place to ask anything about our kids, and to know what our province actually offers.
Our story
We’re the team at Maison GR: a small studio of developers and designers who are also parents. When our children were born, we found ourselves drowning in contradictory advice from Google, forums, and well-meaning relatives.
We built The Childhood Journal to give parents what we wanted: answers grounded in Canadian public health guidance, personalised to our child’s age and situation, available at any hour, in French, English, Spanish or Arabic.
The name says what it is: the journal of a childhood, from the first scan to eighteen, kept for the family it belongs to.
Maison GROur principles
- 01
Guided by evidence
Answers follow Canadian public health guidance (the Canadian Paediatric Society, the Public Health Agency of Canada, your province) and never stand in for a diagnosis. Urgent situations are caught by written rules before the AI says a word.
- 02
Empathetic
We know parenting is hard. Our tone is warm, non-judgmental, and supportive: like a wise friend.
- 03
Free where it matters
The Canada guide, the safety cards and the tools are free, for good. The emergency card is never behind a paywall.
Medical disclaimer: The Childhood Journal provides general information only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult your doctor, nurse or midwife for health concerns.
